Overview

Restoran Hathija Maju stands as a notable Indian Muslim dining spot tucked into the lively corner of Jalan SS 18/6 in Subang Jaya. Its strategic location near schools, train stations, and residential areas ensures a steady flow of diverse patrons, from students to commuters and local families. The open-air layout with dual-facing openings invites refreshing cross breezes, creating a breezy ambiance that feels both casual and inviting—a perfect refuge from Malaysia’s tropical heat.

The essence of Hathija Maju is captured in its rich menu, anchored by classic Indian Muslim staples. Signature dishes like the fragrant, spice-laden Nasi Kandar and golden, crispy Tosai set the tone for authentic flavors. Their Tandoori Chicken holds smoky depth, while the humble yet satisfying Puri Set and Masala Tea served in traditional brassware elevate the taste experience. The Banana Leaf meal featuring dried chilli is particularly notable for its robust, well-balanced heat. Lamb Shank lovers will find a slow-cooked, tender delight with each bite.

Beyond mains, the menu’s breadth includes delightful staples like Chapati, a variety of rotis including the sugary Roti Boom, and local favorites such as Roti Canai Telur & Bawang and Mee Goreng Mamak. Beverage offerings match the richness of the food, with standout choices like creamy masala chai, aromatic Nescafe susu panas, and refreshing Sirap Bandung. For those easing into herbal remedies, Radix Panas steams with healthful warmth.

Feedback from patrons further colors the dining picture. Several commend the generous meat portions, especially in satays, and praise the authentic chai that is thick and full-bodied. Others delight in the cozy atmosphere where one can catch a football game on large screens while enjoying the occasional background hum of passing trains—creating a unique blend of urban energy and laid-back vibe.

Yet, it’s not without its challenges. While the spacious, airy design is a plus, some diners note the somewhat cramped table arrangement once the restaurant fills up. Service has fluctuated—from prompt and accommodating to occasions of delays and order repeats. Customer-centric responsiveness shines, however, illustrated by swift refunds and attentive management responses when mistakes occur.

Restoran Hathija Maju caters well to those seeking hearty Indian Muslim cuisine in a relaxed, breezy setting. It suits early risers grabbing weekend breakfast, office crowds craving quick supper, and families in search of familiar, comforting flavors. Space and convenience are generally favorable, though planning for parking and timing can enhance the overall experience.

In sum, Hathija Maju remains a compelling option for anyone eager to explore traditional Indian Muslim dishes with genuine aromas and textures. Its blend of warm hospitality, flavorful fare, and lively locale make it a worthy stop in Subang Jaya’s bustling food landscape.

place sits on corner and is open on two sides, with pleasant cross-breeze even when hot outside. also at crossing of foot-traffic between two tamans, school and train station. so good place to park, for both horse and rider. folk here also have fresh milk. so the order would be that with bru or masala chai. as presented in fancy brassware, and creamy thick to boot. take a moment to absorb the impressive menu on the hoarding. panipuri is excellent, and is served here crispy with asam dipping that kicks, pleasantly. sweet apam is tasty rather than rich or sweet, and is good as dessert or snack. kanji is basically congee with spice payload. consistency runs toward hokkien moi rather than cantonese chuk though. ayam bawang is tasty and tender, with gentle sweet heat. potato is at edge of toothsome without tipping into mushy, and nicely seasoned to boot. all of which would be better if they offered rotis for lunch.

I forgot to check the bill because my friend paid for it. Later I realised that they mistakenly charged cause I ate vegetarian banana leaf but they charged mutton banana leaf for rm19. However the boss responded quickly to my review and gave me a refund. That’s excellent customer service. I will go back to this shop.

Everything was delicious. The satay was surprisingly good! They are very generous with their meat portions. Must try their chai. Best chai I've had. Only complaint was we had to send back rice 2x because of hair. Otherwise good service from the waiters.

Decided to go here for dinner as I wanted to try a different outlet of Hathija Maju. To my surprise, it was a wise decision! Located at the corner lot, the shop was so spacious + airy! It was like dining under the skies as I could feel its wind. Accompanied by the sound of the trains at the nearby LRT station, it has two big screens where eateries could enjoy watching football match comfortably. However, the table arrangements were quite close to each other, making it difficult for me to move once the shop was starting to fill with more pax. Similar to other branches, it offered various menu. Service as usual was good + the food was okay (I ordered beef fried rice mamak style). It was super convenient for me to make the payment as it offered cashless payment. All-in-all, it was definitely a good place to hangout - the dirty plates were picked up quickly + the toilets were also clean despite no specific gender. Please plan your visit wisely to avoid irritation to get a parking.

A recently opened big chain Muslim Indian eatery which offers a variety of popular local dishes which are popular at all times around the clock. This place has since picked up the slack in human traffic especially among families for dinner on weekends. There are other branches of this place besides this outlet beyond Subang Jaya. I decided to cycle out to this place with my kid for some dinner since the mom was out of town for work. It was convenient that we could find permanent fixtures across the street along the covered pedestrian walkway to secure the bicycles. Do come a little earlier as we discovered as the crowd comes in a little later after sunset. We were lucky to be there before the families came in. We ordered a few varieties of dishes that is typically popular at these places and the dishes came quite quickly. The kitchen staff could be observed furiously prepping food during our entire time there as more patrons came in. The food ordered was better than expected especially from a newly established eatery. The place was also tidy and clean as this was still relatively new. There's also an air conditioned area within for patrons but we decided to wing it sitting al frescõ since it rained earlier and the air smelt freshly scrubbed by the monsoon downpour earlier. All in all, the food here was as good as you can get from the better Muslim Indian eateries typically found around the Klang Valley. The best part was the entirely reasonable pricing for all the food we ordered. For around less than the cost of two happy meals from a popular fast food eatery, we had double the equivalent in food ordered. Very good indeed.

Restaurant Hathija Maju is a mamak restaurant (malay-indian restaurant) located at SS18, Subang Jaya. It sells all typical mamak foods that we love. The restaurant atmosphere is one of the best, clean, it has indoor and outdoor, outdoor has very high ceiling and big screen tv where we can watch live such as badminton opens. The food is fine, the food is more oily and price is somewhat reasonable. Overall, ok. LRT station: SS18
